ITB Berlin is just around the corner. We are happy to announce a strong presence of our Board Members and partners from all global regions at the world´s leading travel trade show.
The ITB Convention has always taken on topics that will impact the global travel and tourism industry. Analysing market trends and highlighting best practice examples, the event acts as the global travel and tourism industry’s compass through challenging times. The ITB Convention is also a platform of exchange for movers, shakers and decision-makers in tourism economics, politics and science.
For decades, Ecotourism principles were the “side dish” to the industry. Today, global travel and tourism has come to a crossroads and our topics have arrived in the core of the industry. The threatening collapse of the world’s climate, transportation systems that are unsuitable for the future, overtourism conflicts and grave changes in customer demands present the global tourism industry with a variety of existential challenges. Continuing down the beaten path is highly questionable. To move from “sustainable tourism” towards “tourism for sustainable development” is essential.
How do we measure success in the future? How can we tell we have been good in 5, 10, 20 years? You are welcome to discuss and discover new answers, more connectivity and cooperation with us, the world’s most experienced and comprehensive organization for those who embrace Ecotourism.
