International Symposium and Annual Conference on Transforming Tourism for Climate Action

The One Planet Sustainable Tourism Programme International Symposium and Annual Meeting on “Transforming Tourism for Climate Action” will be held in Santiago, Chile on 9th and 10th December as a side-event in the margins of UNFCCC COP25.
The side-event is a collaboration of UN Environment, UNWTO, the government of France and the Undersecretariat of State for Tourism of Chile with support from the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety.
On the first day (9th December) an international conference will take place involving policy makers and private sector representatives whom are spearheading and committed to accelerate climate action in tourism.
The second day (10th December) will consist of a consultative workshop to discuss the strategic direction of the One Planet Sustainable Tourism Programme in the upcoming years, with a specific focus on climate change, biodiversity, plastics and the circular economy.
